Many thanks to our generous community

We would like to thank every one of the 190 generous supporters who turned out for our Cause for Paws fundraiser at Shennecossett Yacht Club on September 15th. The event was a tremendous success, and its proceeds will allow us to continue our mission of supporting the important work of the Groton Animal Control facility. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, many more animals will receive much needed veterinary care and find good homes with wonderful adopters. This work would not be possible without each of you, and so we thank you most kindly.

We would also like to thank a few of the individuals who contributed to the success of the event:

  • Jane Cofone for her very generous contribution toward the catering bill
  • Peter and Gale Manroel at the Grapevine for co-ordinating the event
  • All of the wine and beer vendors who gave up their Saturday to make this event a success.  They offered approximately sixty different wines and a variety of beers for the event. They are: Allan S. Goodman, Inc., Angelini, Brescome Barton, Inc., Connecticut Distributors, Inc., F & F Distributors, Inc., Grand Vintage, Hartley & Parker Limited, Inc., Jonathan Edwards Winery, Latitude Beverage, Levine Distributing Co., Inc., Martin Scott Wines, Worldwide Wines, Inc.
  • All of the businesses, organizations, and individuals who purchased the ads for our ad book.  A total of 51 ads were purchased.
  • Shennecossett Yacht Club

Here are a few images from the event. Thanks to Tom Prawdzik for permission to use his photos.

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of our donors. As the Animal Control Officer I am on the front lines and see how each and every donation no matter how big or small helps to improve the lives of all the animals that come through the Groton Animal Control Facility. I can’t express in words my gratitude for people like you who truly makes a difference in an animal’s life at the local level.

I make and sell jewelry on a small scale, part time basis. Knowing it is the kitten season, I decided to donate 100% of my June proceeds to animals in need. It isn’t much but I help it helps! Thank you for all you do
