Thanks to our generous community

Once again, our generous local community of animal lovers has joined together to support the work of the Groton Animal Foundation. Our 6th annual Cause For Paws wine and beer tasting fundraiser was held on a gorgeous September evening at Shennecossett Yacht Club.

We’d like to thank CJ Patel of The Grapevine for coordinating a dozen vendors who showcased more than fifty wines and a great assortment of beers. We’d also like to thank Par 4 Restaurant for supplying the tastiest spread of delicious food for guests. The dancers from the Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Old Saybrook put on an amazing demonstration, and really got the joint hopping. This would not have been possible without our DJ, John, from Atlantic Coast Entertainment. We’d also like thank all of the businesses who placed ads in our program, as we mentioned here. Glen Allvord of NEID printing was instrumental in pulling the booklet together.

This year’s raffle was bigger and better than ever! We had so many local businesses and individuals donating items for the raffle, and the result was amazing. We thank all of the basket donors for their kindness, and their creativity in assembling these wonderful baskets.

Finally, we must thank all of you who purchased tickets, and came out to support us this year. We are so fortunate to have a generous and caring community who support our mission through ongoing donations, and by coming out to our fundraisers. We are so very grateful to all of you for your continued support!

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of our donors. As the Animal Control Officer I am on the front lines and see how each and every donation no matter how big or small helps to improve the lives of all the animals that come through the Groton Animal Control Facility. I can’t express in words my gratitude for people like you who truly makes a difference in an animal’s life at the local level.

I make and sell jewelry on a small scale, part time basis. Knowing it is the kitten season, I decided to donate 100% of my June proceeds to animals in need. It isn’t much but I help it helps! Thank you for all you do
