Give Luck to the Animals that are Stuck

The amazing girl scouts pictured below are Amelia, Riley and Jackie of Groton Girl Scout Troop 63124 along with Groton Animal Control Officer, Christine O’Brien.  The girls held a donation drive, “Give Luck to the Animals that are Stuck”,  for animal control by placing bins at local businesses. Mystic Pet Shop matched their donations in the bin at their store. The scouts did this from late February until just after March 17th, 2016. On March 25th, they delivered their generous donations to animal control. The girls were so proud, and we could not be more proud of them either! They brought everything from cat food, dog food, litter, to treats and toys! Once things were unloaded, they got a tour of the facility, where they met some of the animals available for adoption. The scouts are planning another drive in the future, so we will let you know when it’s happening.

Once again, we are overwhelmed by the selfless compassion and dedication of youngsters in our community, and we are so grateful for the support they receive from the business community and our equally charitable and generous citizens. Thank you everyone, for pulling together to help the animals!

I would like to take this opportunity to personally thank all of our donors. As the Animal Control Officer I am on the front lines and see how each and every donation no matter how big or small helps to improve the lives of all the animals that come through the Groton Animal Control Facility. I can’t express in words my gratitude for people like you who truly makes a difference in an animal’s life at the local level.

I make and sell jewelry on a small scale, part time basis. Knowing it is the kitten season, I decided to donate 100% of my June proceeds to animals in need. It isn’t much but I help it helps! Thank you for all you do
